PIER- CLAIS SUMMER INSTITUTE 2006
Central America
July 6-14, 2006
Socio-economic, political and cultural changes and continuities extend throughout the isthmus of Central America in the shape of seven countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. Using an inter-disciplinary approach connecting the past towards contemporary themes, you are invited to participate in the exploration of Central America’s diverse societies and identities within local, regional and worldwide developments. A ten day field trip to Nicaragua will immediately follow the summer institute.
Summer Institute Fee at Yale: $400 includes tuition and materials.
Nicaragua- Field Visit: Approx. $2,500 (including airfare).
Sponsored by the Council on Latin American and Iberian Studies, The MacMillan Center, and the U.S. Department of Education through a Title VI National Resource Center grant.
