Undergraduate Affiliates Network
The Council on Latin American & Iberian Studies at the Yale MacMillan Center has launched the Undergraduate Affiliates Network for students interested in topics related to Latin American and Iberian studies. As a counterpart to the CLAIS Graduate & Professional School Affiliates network, the undergraduate fellows network will provide undergraduates with a close-knit interdisciplinary community; unique opportunities to work with graduate students, affiliated faculty and visitors prominent in the field; and small amounts of funding support for research, conference, and working groups.
The mission of the network is to encourage intellectual engagement and innovation in the undergraduate student community through supporting academic research and affiliated gatherings related to Latin American & Iberian Studies.
Students involved in the network are eligible for support to help them attend conferences related to Latin American & Iberian studies, broadly interpreted. In addition, students interested in traveling domestically or internationally for research purposes may also apply for funding. All applicants must apply through the Yale Student Grants & Fellowships database. Beyond funding, and the benefits of being a member of an academic community, this network also offers a variety of other opportunities, including access to reading groups, lecture series, and occasions to meet with affiliated faculty and alumni. There will also be a strong collaboration with the European Studies Council and its European Studies Council Undergraduate Fellows Network, including joint alumni and other prominent speaker series.
