Zenaida Aguirre Gutierrez
Zenaida is a rising senior in Branford College studying Ethnicity, Race and Migration with a concentration in Immigration Studies. She is a first-generation Latina from South Los Angeles. Zenaida has used her studies to advocate for Latine immigrant communities across the US including in New Haven and, most recently, in San Francisco. She is currently completing her thesis about the experiences of undocumented Mexican immigrants residing in Los Angeles. In the near future, Zenaida will continue research about immigration policies across Latin America and pursue a career in immigration law to make legal services accessible to immigrants. On-campus she is involved with ¡Oye! Spoken Word and the Latin dance team Sabrosura. Her go-to snack is Ashley’s cookies and cream ice-cream!
