Richard Cardoso
Richard Cardoso is a first-year student in Ezra Stiles College and is a prospective double-major in Latin American Studies and Global Affairs. He is interested in the design of Latin American political institutions, and specifically, he would like to research corruption in Latin American and its impact on economic inequality. Also, he would like to study unique religious traditions in Latin America and how religion has shaped Mexican society. As someone of Mexican heritage, Richard loves learning more about his parents’ home country as well as the amazing cultures, music, and literature of each country in Latin America. Outside of class, Richard is the treasurer for ¡Oyé! Spoken Word (La Casa’s spoken word poetry group), can be found trying new foods across New Haven, and is a member of Ballet Folklórico Mexicano de Yale.
