Alex Sundberg
Alex is a junior in Berkeley College double majoring in
Economics and Political Science. He is Argentine-American
originally born in Washington, D.C. His interests lie at the
intersection of economic development and post-conflict
reconstruction, analyzing how each impact the other. Alex hopes
to study how Argentina recovered from the military dictatorship
of the late 70s and early 80s and how legacies established during
this period continue to corrode contemporary domestic policy.
Throughout his lifetime, Alex has witnessed the exponential
devaluation of the Argentine peso, informing his interest in the
importance of monetary policy. Ultimately, he aspires to return
to Argentina and help reverse this trend of economic
destabilization that has devasted the country. Outside of the
classroom Alex is on the Track & Field team, serves as a member
of the Yale College Council, and enjoys drinking mate with his
friends.
