Anette Diaz
Anette (she/her/hers) is a sophomore in Ezra Stiles College majoring in Latin American Studies and pursuing certificates in Spanish and Education Studies. Though born in Pomona, New Jersey, Anette spent her most formative years living in a small town in Oaxaca, Mexico. Largely inspired by this experience, Anette has developed a profound interest in education research, policy and practice, specifically in relation to Latin American countries and Latine communities abroad. In addition to this, Anette is also interested in the study of how social movements construct and use memory to shape cultural meaning and advance their goals. Outside of class, Anette is involved with Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Yale, a traditional dance group, and is a tutor for Bridges ESL, where she teaches English to adults from Colombia, Brazil and other countries around the world.
