Andra Chastain is a historian of modern Latin America with a focus on twentieth-century Chile, urban history, the transnational Cold War, and the history of science and technology. Her dissertation is titled “Vehicle of Progress: The Santiago Metro, Technopolitics, and State Formation in Chile, 1965-1989.”
