Sarah Patricia Cerna Villagra

Assistant Professor in Gender Studies Interdisciplinary Program, El Colegio de México. Dr. Cerna joined PIEG in 2018 as a researcher in a gender violence and masculinities project. It is part of the National Researchers System. Dr. Cerna has a PhD in Rule of Law and Global Governance and a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Salamanca (Spain). She has a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from UNAM and a degree in Political Science from the Catholic University of Asunción (Paraguay). In 2019, Dr. Cerna receives a Scholarship for Women in the Social Sciences granted by the Mexican Academy of Sciences. Dr. Cerna has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses at the San Luis Potosí Autonomous University, UNAM, FLACSO, Paraguay and the National University of Asunción. Dr. Cerna has given courses, workshops, diplomas on gender, gender violence, women's political rights, harassment, and harassment in the academic field to teachers, university officials and personnel of public institutions both in Mexico and Paraguay.
