Introduction by Aaron Gerow (A. Whitney Griswold Professor of Yale East Asian Languages & Literatures and Film & Media Studies)

Film Description

Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite follows the financially struggling Kim family as they con their way into working for the wealthy Park family by posing as highly qualified professionals. As they infiltrate the Parks' lavish home, their scheme takes a dark turn when they discover a shocking secret hidden in the basement. Tension escalates as deception, greed, and class struggle collide. The film masterfully blends the genres of dark comedy, thriller, and social commentary, breeding equal parts pathos and indictment.
