Hanni Dong

Hanni is from Shanghai, and she went to the University of Cambridge for a BA in Economics. During her undergraduate study, she found her passion lies in broader Social Sciences and Humanities subjects beyond Economics that raise greater attentiveness to human experiences and socio-cultural aspects of East Asian society, especially the Greater China. She hopes to use her MA as a chance to nourish her interest in the multidisciplinary fields further, delving into contemporary China's cultural anthropology and political sociology. Meanwhile, she looks to utilize her pre-acquired Economics knowledge and quantitative methodology to research broader societal or cultural issues in Greater China through an economic lens.
