Julia Miranda

Julia Miranda is a sophomore studying History and Anthropology at Yale College. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she was raised in several countries and is currently based in Beirut, Lebanon. Her research grapples with the connections between Argentina’s last dictatorship (1976-1983), contemporary political resistance to state violence, and social justice movements in Latin America and the Global South. Julia is a scholar in the Multidisciplinary Academic Program in Human Rights, and works for Havenly Treats, a community café building political and economic power with refugee and immigrant women in New Haven. Her interests include refugee and immigrant rights, queer and trans Indigenous theory, transnational solidarity networks, and the intersection between poetry and protest.
