Kathryn Hemmer
Kathryn is a senior Political Science major specializing in atrocity prevention, civilian protection, and international law. She is a member of the undergraduate Human Rights Scholars Program.
As a researcher for the University Network for Human Rights, Kathryn has contributed to advocacy and documentation efforts in the US, Yerevan, and Geneva addressing the 2023 ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh. She has pursued further work in the atrocity prevention and accountability fields through internships with the Crimes Against Humanity Initiative, UNDP Colombia, and the US State Department (CSO).
She is grateful to have studied or worked abroad in Colombia, Argentina, Senegal, France, and Spain since committing to Yale in 2020.
