Kathryn Hemmer

Kathryn is a Political Science major and Human Rights Scholar with a deep interest in mass atrocity prevention, civilian protection, and international law. 

Kathryn has interned for the US State Department (Atrocity Prevention Task Force), the Crimes Against Humanity Initiative, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Myanmar, and UNDP Colombia (Peace, Justice and Reconciliation Program). She has also contributed to documentation of the 2023 ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).

Kathryn is a Mass Atrocities in the Digital Era (MADE) fellow at Yale, a member of the civil society Prevention and Protection Working Group (PPWG), and part of the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS).
