Excellent things in women podcast

SASC Student Fellow, Iman Iftikhar, is producing a podcast called “Excellent things in Women,” taking direct inspiration from Yale Professor Emeritus Sara Suleri Goodyear’s book of the same name. The podcast intends to highlight the personal and professional trajectories of the women that make up the South Asian Studies Council. Over the course of the year, Iman will be interviewing the female faculty at the SASC in a biweekly fashion, learning more about their personal and academic trajectories and their eventual move to Yale’s campus. We will also hear more about their work, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them, and the changing face of South Asian studies which has historically maintained a barricaded boy’s club. From Supriya Gandhi and her work on medieval Indic religions in South Asia, to Sarah Khan’s research on women’s political participation in contemporary Pakistan, this podcast will cover everything women in the SASC have been doing!
