Caroline Talis

Caroline Talis is a student from Madison, Wisconsin, intending to double major in Classics and Philosophy. She is particularly interested in topics that lie at the intersection of ancient philosophical traditions and reception across the Mediterranean and Europe. As an alumna of Madison’s Spanish dual-language immersion program, she is drawn to the history and transmission of thinkers such as Aristotle in al-Andalus. She expanded her regional interest in Croatia during a summer study abroad program centered around the cultural and political history of Southeastern Europe, a region of critical importance from the Roman period to the 21st century. Beyond her interest in history, she has a passion for theater and Ancient Greek drama.
