Faculty Grants

Edward J. and Dorothy Clarke Kempf Memorial Fund

Due early March

Although it is not required, the MacMillan Center suggests that Kempf applications be submitted with cooperation and support of a Council, Committee, or Program of the MacMillan Center. If you would like for the European Studies Council to support your Kempf application, we ask that you kindly submit a proposal and a budget to us to european.studies@yale.edu on or before February 25, so that we have time to review it and complete a letter of support before the application deadline. For conferences or for lecture series, it is ideal to have these go through ESC. Please make sure that your budget is comprehensive and includes applicable expenses for meals/receptions, lodging, airfare/train, ground transportation, special events, custodial and AV costs, and publicity.

European Studies Council Faculty Research Grant

Rolling Basis

Proposals can include fees for virtual conferences, archival documents, and books for research related to European studies. Software for research, if not offered for free by Yale in the software library, may also be acceptable.

Applications must be received at least 30 days before the proposed virtual event and/or research plan.

Timely awards will be made on a rolling basis until current-year funds are committed.
