European Studies Faculty Grant Application
Proposals can include fees for virtual conferences, archival documents, and books for research related to European studies. Software for research, if not offered for free by Yale in the software library, may also be acceptable.
Applications must be received at least 30 days before the proposed virtual event and/or research plan.
Timely awards will be made on a rolling basis until current-year funds are committed.
The following guidelines have been developed to help us prioritize the allocation of funds:
- Priority to junior faculty
- Priority to research-related travel over conferences and paper presentations
- Priority to those who have had fewer grants from the European Studies Council in the past
- In some cases, we may not be able to grant the entire request but will offer partial support. Individual awards will not exceed $3,000.
Expenses will be reimbursed upon presentation of original receipts, with documentation, accompanied by an account of what was accomplished under this grant. All reimbursements are subject to approval. In all cases, receipts must not be more than 90 days old.
Because grant funds are limited, requests should reflect demonstrated need and reasonable project costs to ensure equitable distribution of resources among all eligible applicants.
