Conan Thibodeau

Undergraduate Student

Conan Thibodeau is an undergraduate student majoring in Linguistics, with an advanced language certificate in Russian. He is interested in phonetics and phonology, particularly in describing the sound systems and phonological patterns of the world's languages, as well as documenting and revitalizing endangered languages. In particular, he is interested in the Finno-Ugric and Eastern Slavic languages. In the summer of 2025, Conan conducted research on contrastive hyperarticulation (CH) in Russian palatalized/velarized minimal pairs under Professor of Laboratory Phonology Jason Shaw. In the summer of 2026, Conan will serve as a Language Strategy Intern at Maslansky + Partners in New York City. In the future, he hopes to receive a PhD in linguistics and conduct fieldwork in phonetics on endangered languages.
