Jake Waldinger

I graduated with a degree in International Studies at the University of Missouri in 2019. For the degree I studied Russian for 4 years and studied abroad in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia through the Department of State's Critical Language Scholarship. Since graduating I have served as an infantry officer in the United States Army. I also completed beginner Ukrainian studies through the Department of State's CLS Refresh program and plan to build upon these language studies at Yale. 

I am interested in researching Central Asia's role in the Russo-Ukrainian War, as well as geopolitical implications that the war has for post-Soviet countries. My geographical interests include Russia & Central Asia.
