Lena Cassidy

Undergraduate Student

Lena Cassidy is double-majoring in Global Affairs and Economics, with a focus on transatlantic relations, EU foreign policy, and global peace and conflict. Her interests were shaped by an international upbringing: at 17, she moved from Boston to northern Italy to attend an international school dedicated to peacebuilding and intercultural understanding. Her experience living in Italy sparked a keen interest in European politics, culture, and history.

This past summer, she interned at the European Union Delegation to the United Nations in New York, where she witnessed firsthand how EU diplomats advance European values and priorities on the world stage. Lena also writes for The Politic, Yale's undergraduate political journal, where she has investigated the role of the oligarchs in fuelling Russia's war economy.
