Research Interests:

17th- and 18th-century political theory, natural jurisprudence and the social contract, political economy and Marxism, modern European historiography and sociology, history of post-Marxism

Owen is an undergraduate in Yale College studying History, with an interest in modern European intellectual history and political theory. His research focuses on 20th-century British and French historiography of political economy, and the structural connections between Marxism and 17th- and 18th-century discourses of natural law and the social contract. On campus, he is involved in the Yale Russian Chorus, MacMillan Center, and Yale Political Union.
