Raphaëlle Soffe
Raphaëlle Soffe is a current doctoral student in Political Science (Political Economy) at Yale. She studies the political economy of taxation, with a focus on topics concerning tax avoidance, tax morale, and tax shaming. Raphaëlle's projects are mostly based in Europe. For example, she has a paper on EU tax transparency reform and how corporations are responding to the threat of public shaming on their tax affairs. She has another project with the UK tax authority on tax morale during the United Kingdom's "Era of Tax Shaming". In addition to her Yale affiliation, Raphaëlle is a visiting scholar at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and holds other affiliations at the Council on Foreign Relations and Chatham House.
Prior to joining Yale, Raphaëlle worked in investment banking. She received her BA from Harvard College and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
