Ahsan Ahmad serves as the Scientific Manager at the Yale Center for Infection and Immunity (YCII), at the Yale School of Medicine, a Research Fellow at the Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at the Yale Law School, and is currently an MPH candidate at the Yale School of Public Health, with dual concentrations in applied analytic methods & epidemiology and health policy. For the past 8 years, he led the implementation of high impact research studies at the nexus of infectious disease epidemiology, criminal justice and human rights in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Southeast Asia, advancing evidence-based prison health and drug policy reforms to strengthen health services and systems for marginalized populations. In this role, he worked closely with civil society, governments, UN agencies, and high-level influencers. His global public health work has been published in the Lancet, Lancet Regional Health - Western Pacific, International Journal of Drug Policy, Open Forum Infectious Diseases, Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Opinion Pages and others.
