Application Information
Participants in the 2019 Pubic History Institute will include fifteen public historians currently employed by cultural institutions as staff or as freelance consultants. Participants should have at least three years of professional experience beyond their last academic degree.
There is no fee for the Public History Institute. Housing and meals for participants will be provided for by the Gilder Lehrman Center. Lodging will be in one of the Yale University dorms. Each participant will be provided with a single dorm room within a suite, with a shared bath in the hallway. Sheets and towels are provided. Participants will be responsible for their own travel costs and logistics. The Gilder Lehrman Center staff are happy to answer questions about travel logistics.

Up to six Yale graduate students also are invited to participate in the Public History Institute. Students will be responsible for their own lodging, but otherwise will participate in all sessions and will be provided with lunch and dinner.
