Histories Uncovered. Lessons Reimagined.
A Region Awakens.
Our cohort brings together a dynamic group of elementary, middle, and high school educators who engage students in history, literature, and the social sciences. Organized into thematic groups, teachers will investigate New England’s ties to slavery through local history, storytelling, and resistance--examining untold narratives, regional dynamics, curriculum gaps, and the power of place-based pedagogy.
From uncovering interwoven Black and Indigenous histories to rethinking revolution, curriculum, and local memory, our cohort brings bold questions and meaningful instruction to the classroom. Together, they are transforming the teachings of the legacies of slavery in New England—one story, lesson, and community at a time.
