Manchester Public Schools is committed to creating an active partnership with students, school personnel, families, and community. The mission of our district is to create safe, inclusive schools where equity is the norm and excellence is the goal. All students will be prepared to be lifelong learners and contributing members of society.
As a grade five Humanities teacher, as well as an Multi-Language classroom, it is my goal to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive. I focus on developing strong literacy, critical thinking skills, and making historical connections to prepare students for future success.
In my history classes, I am committed to developing lessons about slavery that are both meaningful and accessible to my Grade 5 students. My goal is to present this complex history in a way that fosters understanding, empathy, and critical thinking. My hope for this program is that it will provide me with age-appropriate resources, primary sources, and strategies for facilitating critical discussions. By incorporating engaging and reflective learning experiences, I want to help students connect with history in a way that deepens their awareness of the past and its lasting impact.
