Can Corporations Be Trusted to Tackle Modern Day Slavery?

OpenDemocracy’s Beyond Trafficking and Slavery, with the support of the Yale University’s Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance and Abolition, host a policy debate on the question of whether corporations can be trusted to tackle modern day slavery.

Genevieve LeBaron and Joel Quirk asked nine movers and shakers in the field of labour policy to respond to the following: “Ending forced labor and modern slavery in global supply chains requires binding legislation, rather than corporate self-regulation and self-disclosure. Yes or no?”
