Orit Yeret

Lector of Modern Hebrew / Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations

Orit Yeret is a Senior Lector in Modern Hebrew at Yale University, known for her innovative teaching methods and passion for the Hebrew language. She uses a variety of techniques and technological tools in her classes to inspire students to think independently and develop a love for learning. Orit also shares her appreciation for the arts with her students, creating a vibrant and engaging classroom experience.

Orit earned her M.A. in Comparative Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Haifa, Israel. She later became certified to teach Hebrew as a Second Language (Hebrew College, Boston). She has taught at Bard College in New York and Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. Additionally, she served as a committee member for the SAT subject test in Modern Hebrew, appointed by the College Board.

Orit is dedicated to her professional growth and regularly participates in workshops and professional development programs to stay updated with the latest teaching strategies and tools. This ongoing commitment to learning helps her bring fresh ideas and approaches to her students.
