2026 Yale & Slavery Teachers Institute Cohort Member

Hello! I am an 11th and 12th grade learning support teacher and McDowell High School in Pennsylvania. In my day to day, I co-teach and have self-contained classes for both U.S History 11 and U.S. Government. My goal in my classroom is not only to bring the content to life but also to teach my students about the skills needed in order to understand the content. Our school has a collaborative goal to increase rigor in the classroom, and this institute will aid in me doing that. I am looking forward to increasing my knowledge of Indigenous lands and people, as well as sharpening my skills in interdisciplinary pedagogy.
