2026 Yale & Slavery Teachers Institute Cohort Member
I am a high school ESL teacher and I work primarily with intermediate level English language learners. In addition, I also teach a course designed to support multilingual learners in accessing academic English across content areas. Our student community is incredibly diverse, and I am proud to teach students who speak many languages and who represent a wide range of cultural backgrounds. I really aim to support students as they grow their language skills and build academic confidence. Throughout the summer institute, I look forward to engaging in workshops, hands-on experiences and conversations with people in the community in order to develop my understanding of Indigenous knowledge and history. I am especially interested in collaborating with other educators to bring new ideas, perspectives and practices back to my own classroom.
