Georgina Cárdenas Acosta

Dr. Georgina Cárdenas Acosta is chief of the Academic Staff College of Sociology in FES Aragón, UNAM, since 2020. She is part of the National System of Researchers level I.
Dr. Cárdenas Acosta has a degree in sociology from UAM Azcapotzalco has a Master degree in Gender Studies from El Colegio de México and has a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia. She did a two year postdoctoral at CIEG, UNAM with a topics such as "political participation of women", "female mayors", "Political violence against women", "female city mayors" in Mexico City. On October 2018, she received the Omecíhuatl badge, awarded by the Mexico City Women Institute (Instituto de las Mujeres de la CDMX) for her contribution, promotion and guarantee of women´s political rights.
