David Ake Sensabaugh, the Ruth and Bruce Dayton Curator of Asian Art and head of the Department of Asian Art at the Yale University Art Gallery (retired), is a graduate of Stanford University and received his Ph.D. in Chinese and Japanese Art and Archaeology from Princeton University. His research interests are in fourteenth- and fifteenth-century Chinese painting and in the art and archaeology of the Han dynasty and the Southern and Northern Dynasties. He has researched Eastern Han tombs and is working on a project on Northern Dynasties tomb painting. Geographic region: East Asia (China, Korea, Japan).
