Alexandra Ceballos

Alexandra Ceballos is a Political Science major with a certificate in Advanced Chinese Language. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, and of Panamanian heritage, her research on Latin America has been driven by a passion for understanding how global exchanges shape the region's cultural and political landscape. Her coursework at Yale has enriched this interest, as she has been able to take this interest into many spaces on campus as well as around the world.

Alexandra studied abroad at the University of Cambridge, where she completed a dissertation on the role of Spanish colonial intervention on indigenous identities in the Isthmus of Panama. At Yale, she has conducted research on the Ecuador-Peru territorial conflict over the Cordillera del Condor and Panama's role in shaping present-day trade relations. Beyond her research, she has engaged in activities on campus that allowed her to contribute first-hand to global exchange. She served as Secretary-General of Yale Model United Nations China, as well as a Director for conferences in Belgium and South Korea that create forums for international debate.
