Isabela Filgueira Campos
Isabela Filgueira is a Brazilian biologist and Master of Environmental Science candidate at Yale School of the Environment. Her research focuses on how large mammals, particularly lowland tapirs, contribute to forest regeneration and resilience in Amazonian landscapes impacted by large-scale agriculture. With experience at universities, NGOs, and research institutes such as IPAM and INCAB, she integrates ecological fieldwork, GPS tracking, remote sensing, and statistical modeling to explore biodiversity’s role in climate mitigation. Passionate about conservation and science communication, she aims to bridge research, policy, and public engagement to strengthen biodiversity protection in the Global South.
