Project Description: With the collapse of key agreements such as the INF and ABM treaties, and the impending expiration of the New START treaty in 2026, the future of nuclear arms control is highly uncertain. This project will explore the gradual breakdown of nuclear arms control treaties and the risks posed by a less regulated global nuclear world. It will also explore alternative approaches that could support sustainable diplomatic efforts in managing nuclear weapons. As part of this research, visits to key institutions in Vienna, Geneva, and NYC will help assess how nuclear diplomacy can evolve in response to today’s geopolitical challenges.
