Aurélie Vialette

Aurélie Vialette is a scholar of archive theories and practices.

She works on the 19th century Philippines, particularly on carceral studies. Her book project Cosmetic of the Archive: Disability and the Legacy of Penal Colonization in the Philippines looks at the 19th century penal colony archive in the southern Philippines and its legacies in the 20th and 21st century.  

Aurélie Vialette has been teaching graduate seminar on archive theory, disability studies, the Philippines, the Spanish empire and theories of protest and resistance.
