Changcheng Chen
Changcheng Chen is originally from Beijing, China. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts, double-majoring in Economics and Asian Studies. His senior thesis explored the aesthetic value of haiku and senryū through a range of Eastern and Western theoretical approaches, with particular attention to Mikhail Bakhtin. He is also interested in novels from the Meiji, Taishō, and Shōwa periods.
His primary research interest lies in premodern Japanese literature. Outside of his academic work, he writes short pieces in expressionist and stream-of-consciousness styles.
