Dylan Siegel
Dylan Siegel is the Assistant Program Director at the Council on East Asian Studies (CEAS) at Yale University. He is responsible for overseeing the Council's finances, while supporting its overall direction and programs.
Dylan received his BA in History from the University of California, Berkeley before spending six months at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies for Japanese language training. After returning from Japan, Dylan worked as a writer and producer at a digital media studio. He received his Master's from the CEAS MA program, where he wrote his thesis on disaster and reformation in modern Japan, particularly three catastrophes in 1891, 1923, and 1945. He has produced independent video projects about his research, created a digital humanities website from scratch, and has experience in managing websites and creating academic-minded media content.
Before becoming the Assistant Program Director, Dylan worked for two and a half years as a Program Coordinator supporting events at the Council. Dylan continues his enthusiasm for the field of East Asian Studies and remains interested in learning more about the community's research projects.
