My research focuses on the way in which theater can be thought-provoking for Metaphysics when the latter is attempting to think about appearance - and the human's relationship with the world - without limiting it to the reductive categories of representation. I want to suggest that some plays - that are often deemed "unperformable" - are challenging the metaphysical presuppositions of a stage as a realm of meaningful appearances. My work focus on German theater from the Romantic era, together with 20th century German and French philosophy.
