Justice is Global presents Asia on My Mind, an event series that reckons with the legacies of U.S. interventions in the Asia-Pacific region that have shaped cultural memories of many Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Join us in a virtual performance and discussion with Lil Idli, an experimental, indie-pop duo of married couple Ranjani Prabhakar and Deepak Gopinath. Come and hear Ranjani and Deepak perform two singles from their debut album Mitochondria which explores human relationships to the land, to nature, and to each other.
The climate has always been a project for colonial powers. At the core of our global crisis is not simply that the earth is warming, but that spiritual and cultural identities have been devastated in the process. Ranjani and Deepak’s music illustrates the love and loss felt from witnessing the weathering of our planet and its people.
