Mr. Arthur Asiimwe is currently the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the Rwandan Embassy in Washington DC. Prior to joining diplomatic work, Mr. Asiimwe served as Director General of Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA), the national public broadcaster for over 10years. He oversaw the transformation of RBA into an independent public broadcaster operating three television channels, eight radio stations and a strong digital network.

His background is mainly in the media space spanning almost 20 years where he worked in print media, broadcasting and wire services like Reuters and the Associated Press (AP). Asiimwe also had a brief stint in health sector, where he served as Director General of Rwanda Health Communication Centre (RHCC) under the Ministry of Health.

He pursued a masters Degree in Journalism (M.A Journalism) from Carleton University, Canada (2009), a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from the National University of Rwanda (2015) and an MBA with Oklahoma Christian University (US). Mr. Asiimwe also holds a diploma in Strategic Leadership from Swedish Institute of Management

For past two years, he been President of African Union of Broadcasters (AUB) that groups together all public broadcasters on the continent. He is a former Chairman of Media High Council of Rwanda and also served on different boards of private local media.
