The increasing size of global negotiations — which come with huge costs, including environmental damage — combined with mounting geopolitical tensions signal a need for a more dynamic model. In honor of Earth Day, the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies will host a fireside chat with former Costa Rican President Carlos Alvarado Quesada and environmental expert Maria Ivanova (FAS, YSE) on the potential of regional collaboration as a more nimble and effective option for impact. This event is a Walker Lecture. The George Herbert Walker Lecture Fund was established to bring to Yale eminent scholars and public figures to speak on matters of global significance.
