Florin Lucian Cucu

After obtaining his Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science in 2009, Florin was accepted at Sciences Po to read Political Science. During the third year of his undergraduate studies, he obtained a scholarship that allowed him to visit the University of Oxford, where he attended classes in British History, Philosophy and Economics. After graduating cum laude from Sciences Po, Florin enrolled in a Master's degree in Economics at Sciences Po, École Polytechnique and ENSAE. He graduated summa cum laude, with the highest GPA across all disciplines. Having excelled in Macroeconomics, he decided to pursue a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Thierry Mayer. His main research interests are in the area of International Trade, Urban Economics and Migration. Currently, Florin is working on a project seeking to assess the impact of trade integration on the diverging migration choices of skilled and unskilled workers in the US. Additionally, he teaches Microeconomics and Macroeconomics to undergraduate students at Sciences Po in Paris and Reims.
