Gertrude Ansaaku
Gertrude is a PhD International Affairs student at the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana. She holds an MPhil Degree in International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Information Studies and French (minor). She was at the Texas A&M International University in Laredo, TX USA as a Graduate Exchange Student on International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) scholarship from August 2008 to May 2009. She has worked at the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD), a graduate centre of learning and research, and training of Foreign Service Officers and peace support operations personnel, at the University of Ghana. Her research interests include regional cooperation and international peace and security. She is currently the Founder and Acting President of The Abigail Network, a women’s group involved in fostering peace in homes. She believes the home should be a primary target in efforts to bring peace and security to the world.
