Hrishika Jain
Hrishika Jain is a scholar specializing in constitutional theory and in Global South and comparative constitutionalism. She earned her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore in 2020 and her LL.M. from Yale Law School in 2025. Prior to her time at Yale, Hrishika was a practitioner at the Supreme Court of India, focusing on strategic litigation concerning democratic structures and civil liberties.

At Melbourne University, Hrishika’s research will focus on developing an account of constitutions as primarily political texts—with judicial review being one mode of their wider political practice—and examine the kind of popular practices of constitutions this would make legible. She hopes for her research to help articulate what constitutionalism might be outside not just courtrooms, but also outside the law and rule-of-law ideologies.
