Swadha Singh
Swadha is a climate scholar focused on global climate finance governance. She is pursuing her PhD at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India. Her research critically evaluates climate finance effectiveness via global governance principles: national ownership, transparency, and accountability to align international finance with national priorities for equitable and transparent climate action in India.
 
Swadha holds an MPhil degree from JNU in International Studies. Her dissertation examined the role of energy security in India’s climate change diplomacy. Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree from JNU and a Bachelor’s degree from Miranda House, University of Delhi, in Political Science. Prior to this, she served as a legislative aide to an Indian Member of Parliament, where she focused on environmental and energy security issues. As an affiliate at Harvard’s South Asia Institute, she contributed to Harvard’s ‘Oral Histories’ project. Additionally – she teaches Political Science at the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board, University of Delhi. She has successfully qualified for UGC-NET in Political Science– an Indian tertiary-level discipline proficiency examination. She has collaborated extensively with leading Indian organizations to advance environmental, grassroots governance, and women empowerment initiatives.
