The GLC Welcomes Tamara Michel as Program Coordinator
The GLC is overjoyed to welcome our new Program Coordinator, Tamara Michel. Tamara Michel is an emerging educational administrator. She holds a B.S. in History from Southern Connecticut State University, where she graduated summa cum laude, and has also studied teaching practices at the University of Birmingham in England. Tamara has served as a Department Assistant at Wesleyan University, supporting the admissions process, and as a Program Officer for the Connecticut Council for the Social Studies, where she helped coordinate professional learning opportunities and managed communications. With a commitment to advancing social studies education, she has participated in various selection committees and leadership initiatives. Passionate about fostering student development, Tamara has engaged in community outreach and volunteer efforts, contributing to the growth of inclusive and effective educational practices.
Tamara will be assisting with GLC educational outreach initiatives, including the Yale and Slavery Teaching Institute Program, which is set to launch in Summer 2025.
