The MacMillan Center is pleased to announce the increase of an annual commitment for Conference Travel Grants

The Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale is pleased to announce the increase of an annual commitment for Conference Travel Grants for Ph.D. To offset the rising costs of travel, starting September 1, 2023, Ph.D. students (regardless of the status of their prospectus) can receive up to $800 to present at a conference.

All Ph.D. students in the humanities and social sciences are eligible to apply for one MacMillan Center International Conference Travel Grant per cycle to support their travel to present their work at scholarly domestic or overseas conferences. To qualify, the student must be listed on the program as a presenter speaking on an international topic.

The MacMillan Center International Conference Travel Grants supplement funds that the student can receive from their home department, elsewhere at Yale, or from the conference if it provides travel subsidies.
