Clarissa Gross
Clarissa Gross is a Doctor’s candidate at the Law School of the University of São Paulo (2014-2017) and a Fox International Fellow (2015-2016) at Yale University. Her research centers on the theoretical foundations of liberal rights in modern liberal democracies, specifically freedom of speech rights, focusing on the problem of hate speech. While at Yale, she wishes to explore the Anglo-Saxon jurisprudential debate about the purposes and values served by freedom of speech rights and about the systematization of the American free speech doctrine. She holds a Master of Laws’s degree from São Paulo Law School of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
