Thomas Graul
Thomas Graul is a PhD student in Yale's Department of History. He is interested in Modern European intellectual history, legal history, and the history of the British empire. His dissertation project reconstructs a conceptual history of the nation-state and the transformation in legal ideas of sovereignty and statehood across the first half of the twentieth century. At Yale, Thomas has worked to foster critical dialogues across European and intellectual history. For the past two years he has served as the co-convener of Yale's Modern Europe Colloquium and a co-coordinator for the Yale Center for Representative Institutions. Prior to coming to Yale, Thomas received his MPhil from the University of Cambridge and his undergraduate degree from Princeton University.
