Societal resilience includes disaster response and preparedness, robust health systems, inclusive growth, and strong social connections that ensure people are mentally, physically, and emotionally able to endure and recover from events such as pandemics, conflict, and natural disasters. MacMillan’s experts understand the full range of how societies and states have adapted to these challenges over time and across different societies. The Center’s regional councils and global programs explore these concepts at the local, regional, and international scales – both for the purpose of generating understanding and for the opportunity to imagine solutions.
